A partnership between the Archives of American Art (AAA) and Smithsonian Gardens, Bloom: Flowers from the Archives of American Art runs through October 6, 2019 in the Lawrence A. Fleischman Gallery at SAAM/NPG. The exhibition will feature sketches and drawings of flowers from the Archives of American Art collections and labels written archivists, horticulturalists, artists, curators, educators, and gardeners to articulate the many facets of flora and highlight the cross-pollination of ideas between the natural world and American art history, and more broadly, the generative intersection of art and science.
