Holiday Decorations
During the winter the Smithsonian Gardens uses a variety of plant and natural materials to use not only as a part of the holiday festivities but throughout the winter season.
Outdoor decorations featuring items of winter interest will be displayed in the Ripley Garden, Haupt Garden, Folger Rose Garden; on the Smithsonian Castle Building walkway and outside the Renwick Gallery.
 
Smithsonian Gardens  
Butterfly Habitat Garden
The Smithsonian Butterfly Habitat Garden is 11,000 square foot area that supports plant species having specific relationships to life cycles of eastern United States butterflies. It is located on the East side of the National Museum of Natural History at 9th Street between Constitution Avenue and the National Mall in Washington, DC.
