Smithsonian Institution Building

Over 2 million visitors pass through the Smithsonian Institution Castle on the National Mall. The Smithsonian Castle is the orientation center for the Smithsonian. The building was designed by James Renwick.

The Castle building is surrounded by two exhibition gardens, the Enid A. Haupt Garden and Folger Rose Garden. These gardens showcase containers of plants, 19th century garden furniture, seasonal plantings and fountains.
